Job Description

The Manufacturing Materials Manager oversees the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products to ensure efficient production and supply chain operations for two locations. Key responsibilities include managing inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers, developing sourcing strategies, and coordinating material flow with the production schedule. The role also involves managing a team, reducing waste, and controlling costs to meet production needs and customer demand.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management: Oversee the entire process from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished products.

Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production while minimizing costs and waste.

Supplier Management: Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.

Production Planning: Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed to align with manufacturing schedules.

Logistics & Warehousing: Manage the receiving, storage, and distribution of materials and products within the warehouse.

Cost Control: Implement strategies to reduce material costs and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of buyers, planners, and inventory specialists.

Data & Systems: Utilize ERP systems for planning, inventory tracking, and reporting on material performance.

Required Skills

Essential Qualifications
