Job Description

We are seeking a mission-driven Social Media Manager with a passion for mental health advocacy and experience in the mental health or wellness space. In this role, you’ll lead our social media strategy to grow community engagement, educate the public, and help reduce stigma around mental health. The ideal candidate understands the sensitivity of mental health topics and brings a thoughtful, trauma-informed approach to digital storytelling. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a content-driven social media strategy aligned with our mission and organizational goals. Create and manage a content calendar with educational, inspirational, and evidence-based content tailored to diverse audiences. Write compassionate, stigma-reducing copy that reflects psychological best practices and cultural sensitivity. Collaborate with clinical teams, therapists, advocates, and marketing staff to produce authentic and informative content. Monitor social channels and engage with followers in a supportive, respectful manner. Track and analyze performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversion) and adjust strategy accordingly. Manage paid social media campaigns that promote programs, events, and mental health services. Stay up to date with trends in mental health communication, social media platforms, and digital community building. Ensure all messaging complies with relevant privacy and ethical standards (e.g., HIPAA, professional guidelines). Requirements Requirements: 1-3 years of experience in social media management, preferably in the mental health, nonprofit, or healthcare sector. Familiarity with mental health issues, terminology, and ethical communication practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to tone and inclusivity. Proficient in analyzing data and creating actionable reports using platform analytics or third-party tools. Ability to create or oversee creation of visual content.
