Basic salaries (DOE) £30k to £55K Plus Benefits This is an exciting and very good time to be joining one of the UK's most progressive and professional insurance companies operating in the UK today. There are a number of new job opportunities due to the company's expansion plans so it's an ideal time to be joining the business where there will be excellent chances to make your mark and progress within. There are 2 roles within the Southampton branch at the moment where they are seeking experienced underwriters, where some flexible homeworking would be supported and maybe 1 to 2 days a week being in the office or less. The first is a Senior Underwriter. You will be required to handle new business and a portfolio of an existing portfolio, where you will have a strong underwriting background and be used to dealing with a variety of cases and being the go-to person dealing with referrals.The key objective is to focus on profitable growth, and retaining your existing renewal portfolio, whilst maintaining excellent service standards at all times and building long standing customer relationships.Salary is very negotiable dependant on experience and up to £55K plus some excellent benefits. The 2nd role is a Commercial Trading Underwriter where you will be required to develop business, look after an existing portfolio, and be an effective trader, building strong relationships with the broker panel and you’ll need to be proactive in your approach. Salary again is negotiable and ranges from £25K to £40k plus excellent benefits. For both roles, the right candidate will be extremely approachable, confident and capable of delivering outstanding levels of service both internally and externally, over the telephone and face to face, as the role will encompass a range of external customer meetings. You will need be visible in the market on a frequent basis and ideally have some existing broker relationships which can be utilised.
