Assistant Supervisor, Maintenance Mechanic
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief of Operations, Superintendent Library Buildings and Grounds; Assistant Superintendent, Facilities Support Division; Fort Meade Operations and Maintenance Branch, evening shifts. The incumbent serves as an Assistant Supervisor, supervising workers performing general operations, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30pm. The Maintenance Mechanic is designated as "Emergency / Essential" and will be required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather conditions.
Duties:
- Supervises workers performing general operations, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Plans and establishes work assignments, deadlines, priorities, and work sequences.
- Coordinates section work operations with related work functions.
- Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
- Manages, monitors and troubleshoots building equipment and systems.
- Operates, maintains, and repairs facility equipment and systems.
- Ensures daily communications are completed with management and other supervisors.
- Utilizes a thorough knowledge of and compliance with all OSHA safety rules and regulations.
- Inspects work in progress by outside contractors and workers for compliance with policies.
- Manages and maintains an inventory of spare parts.
- Purchasing materials to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.

Qualifications:
- You must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of the job announcement.
- Ability to perform the work of the position without more than normal supervision.
- WS-10: Investigates work-related problems and determines causes. Implements corrective actions and recommends solutions to staffing problems and work operations directed by other supervisors.
