Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Assistant to join our team. This position will provide direct support to our Project Estimator/ Planning Engineer, assisting with tasks related to job costing, takeoffs, scheduling, and data entry. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers and is eager to learn the ins and outs of construction project planning and estimation.
No prior construction experience is required—just a strong work ethic, basic math skills, and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities:
Estimation Support:
Assist with collecting and organizing bid documents and project plans.
Help with quantity takeoffs and measurements from blueprints or drawings.
Input pricing and quantities into spreadsheets or estimating software.
Conduct basic supplier/vendor research for material pricing.
Planning Support:
Assist in maintaining project schedules and timelines.
Enter and update data in planning tools and project tracking systems.
Help track project milestones, resource needs, and deadlines.
Organize and file plans, schedules, and permits as needed.
Administrative Support:
Prepare and maintain digital folders, spreadsheets, and reports.
Attend team meetings to take notes and assist with follow-up tasks.
Help ensure documents are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Recent graduates or students with a
background in construction management, engineering, business, or mathematics are
encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Comfortable learning new software tools and reading plans/drawings.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
