Job Description

The Opportunity The Operator Rep is vital to the Digital Team and responsible for facilitating the proficient operation of a hospital communication system.

• Performs various clerical duties and operates computer equipment including the switchboard console, alphamate pager, voice-paging system, portable radios, and cellular telephone, providing information to callers and visitors.
• Handles both incoming and outgoing calls with speed and accuracy.
• Demonstrates familiarity with all code-emergency situations and the appropriate procedures to alert proper personnel and record occurrences as required. Code situations include, but are not limited to, medical emergencies, security alerts, fires, and disasters.
• Acts as central control for mobile pagers, takes and relays messages as required.
• Responds to various alarm systems located at the switchboard.
• Issues keys kept at the switchboard to authorized personnel and maintains an accurate log of their disposition.
• Compiles on-call information for hospital personnel and all scheduled meetings in the building.
• Resolves basic discrepancies and refers all others to the appropriate department.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent required Exceptional Customer Service skills required Customer service or call-center experience for 2-3 years preferred Skills for Success Strong interpersonal and phone skills Commitment to demonstrate consistent outstanding customer service Ability to quickly assess situations and make reasonable judgment decisions Ability to prioritize and organize quickly Working Shifts Required Overnight shift at Blake 15 Fruit Street: Friday (11 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.) and Saturday (11 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.), plus holidays 20 hours per week, with the remaining 4 hours scheduled based on business needs during the week Mass General Brigham Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
